Studio di Pittura di Laura Grosso
Curriculum vitae Laura Grosso
Laura Grosso was born in Bari and lives in Rome, where she completed her artistic training at the Liceo Artistico di via Ripetta and at the Academy of Fine Arts, graduating with honors in the Painting course under Alberto Ziveri.
Her exhibition activity began at the Hotel Byron in Bari (1975). Over the years she has often chosen alternative venues, the first being the Padiglione Borghese in Villa Borghese, Rome (1980), a temporary theatre space set up by the company La Gaia Scienza.
Of particular importance was her long-standing collaboration with the Galleria Andrè in Rome and with Gallery UNO Projektraum Berlin in Berlin.
Her works are represented and regularly exhibited at BaArt Gallery in Bari, with which she has established an ongoing collaboration and where she has held two major solo exhibitions (2019–2024).
In 2011 she painted en plein air as part of the Chinese initiative “Italian Painters Paint Hangzhou.”
In 2014 she took part in the Plein Air Symposium of international painters curated by Galerie Huber & Treff (Jena), held in Beit Jala, an event that takes place annually in different locations.
In 2018 she painted en plein air in Rhodes at the Artpark Rhodes Greece Cultural Center, founded by Damon Papakiriakou.
She created two oil paintings for Enzo Cosimi’s dance performances Calore and Repertori d’amore (1980).
She designed the cover of the book Il gelato in piscina non si scioglie by Leonardo Altomano (2014), and of Il mio Pinocchio by Paolo Lunghi, which she also illustrated with twenty pen drawings (2024).
She is also the author of the artworks featured in the latest television series by Maria Sole Tognazzi, forthcoming.
In support of painting, she conceived and promoted the collective projects Pittura Lectio Divina and AA.VV. Pittura for a group of apprentice painters, as well as Pittori Uniti per la Pittura and Giuditta e Oloferne (2024) for an international group of painters.
